It laughs through my hair.

It's here. It's there.
It's everywhere.

about this Caribbean story!
Author's Note:
Young children learn at a sensory level. Walking barefoot on wet sand, hot pitch, or cushiony grass offers different experiences within. "Go Barefoot" was inspired by the joy I feel when I communicate open heartedly with my
environment. I want to encourage this feeling of discovery, and respectful attention in young children.

Teachers' Key (Ages 4-6):
Go Barefoot is for readers who have learned the past and future tenses. You may enjoy using the rhymes and rhythms to practice choral speaking with small groups or the whole class.

The CD:
Produced and recorded in Trinidad at Audio Concepts Ltd.
The author Joanne Johnson reads first, then read along again with Zack Nunez; (recorded and pictured here when he was five years old). There are questions afterwards which relate to the story, including open ended questions that encourage children to think and respond from their own experience and imaginations.
Introduced by Ann-Marie Ahye (innerfeeling.com)
