TREASURE HOUSE 1

The first of three Caribbean anthologies for young readers. A treasure house of stories and poems - lively, inventive and thought-provoking. Each has something to think about before reading and things for the young readers to do or discuss with friends afterwards - whether in school or at home. For instance, thinking what other illustrations could be added to those in the book - or even drawing them. A "Meet the authors" section gives the authors the chance to explain something about their background and what inspired their writing.

Trinidadian authors included in TREASURE HOUSE 1 are Joanne Gail Johnson, Dwight Nimblett and Yasmin John-Thorpe. Also, Suzanne Francis Brown and Opal Palmer Adisa from Jamaica, Lee Kessell, St Lucia and Sherry North who lives in Florida but has travelled to more than dozen Caribbean islands. Janaki Sastry from India and Kenyan, Jill Inyundo whose story is about a Trinidadian girl and London boy during London's Notting Hill Carnival.
